High Efficiency Filters for Critical Areas
Varying standards define what qualifies as a HEPA filter. The two most common standards require that an air filter must remove 99.95% (European Standard) of particles from the air that passes through, that have a size greater than or equal to 0.3 μm.
High-efficiency filters are used against bacteria, viruses, tobacco and metal oxide smoke, from class E12 against oil vapour and soot in the formation state as well as radioactive suspended matter and from class H14 against aerosols.
According to EU norm EN 1822-1:2009, the particle filter classes are divided into
E10, E11, E12 – EPA*-Filters (High-performance particulate filters)
H13, H14 – HEPA**-Filters (Suspended matter filters)
U15, U16, U17 – ULPA***-Filters (High-performance HEPA-Filters)
Fields of Application and Use
Room air | Process air | Gastronomy | Cleanroom |
E10 to E12: Final filters for rooms with high and highest requirements (e.g. in medicine, laboratories, production rooms in food- pharmaceutical- and electrical industries)
E12 to H13: Exhaust air filters in nuclear facilities; final filters in civil defence facilities and for cleanrooms of classes ISO 7 and ISO 5
H14: Final filter for cleanrooms of classes ISO 4 and ISO 3
The MAV filter for suspended particles BOL EUROVENT class 10 is a compact filter designed for the higher demands for air quality, e.g. the removal of biological pollution in critical hospital areas, pharmaceutical plants etc.
The MAV filter for suspended particles AOL I + II, class S, E12 / H13 is used as a high-performance filter in clean-room systems and similar fields of application (semiconductor production, pharmaceutical industry, photo and film production, CD manufacturing, electronic industry, hospitals, nuclear plants, laboratories and food industry).
